International Mother Language Day
To promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world, International Mother Language Day is observed globally on February 21, every year. Language is not just a means of communication, it represents vast cultural and intellectual heritage as well.
‘’Using technology for multilingual learning : Challenges and opportunities’’ is the theme for this year 2022. This year’s theme focus is to advance multilingual education based on the potential role of technology and support the development of quality teaching and learning for all.
At S.T.A., this day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The assembly highlighted the theme for the special day. Some interesting facts about languages were shared. Tips for students to gain mastery over their mother language were provided. The assembly concluded with a beautiful song wishing one another a Happy Mother Language Day.
Singing Activity was held in the class. Students were asked to prepare a song in their mother tongue and present it in the class. All the students participated and showcased their stupendous singing abilities .Songs in varied languages like Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Gujarati, Hindi , Marathi, Konkani and so on filled the air and presented an auditory treat .Thus the day was instrumental in developing love and respect for ones mother language while respecting others as well.
